“When you grow up you tend to get told that the world is the way it is and your life is just to live your life inside the world. Try not to bash into the walls too much. Try to have a nice family life, have fun, save a little money. That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact: Everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you. And you can change it, you can influence it… Once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.”

Try to learn something about everything and everything about something.
C V Raman
This is an excerpt from the speech of C V Raman addressing young graduates,
"I would like to tell the young men and women before me not to lose hope and courage. Success can only come to you by courageous devotion to the task lying in front of you. I can assert without fear of contradiction that the quality of the Indian mind is equal to the quality of any Teutonic, Nordic or Anglo-Saxon mind. What we lack is perhaps courage, what we lack is perhaps a force, which takes one anywhere. We have, I think, developed an inferiority complex. I think what is needed in India today is the destruction of that defeatist spirit. We need a spirit of victory, a spirit that will carry us to our rightful place under the sun, a spirit which can recognize that we, as inheritors of a proud civilization, are entitled to our rightful place on this planet. If that indomitable spirit were to arise nothing can hold us from achieving our rightful destiny."

Then they laugh at you...
Then they fight you...
Then you win...
Customer: If I deposit my cheque in my account today, when would it be cleared?
Banker: Sir, it will take two days.
Customer: Why? This cheque is of the bank that is opposite to yours. You guys can exchange it immediately. They why does it take so long?
Banker: Sir, there is a procedure for everything, isn’t it? Imagine you go for a jog and die in front of a crematorium due to heart attack. Do they immediately cremate you at the crematorium or do they bring you home, mourn, do other formalities and rituals and then take you to the crematorium?
Customer: (gasps and faints)…
